Section V to crown two hockey champions Monday at RIT

On its way to the semifinals of the 2016 New York State hockey tournament, Pittsford had to take one huge step to get that journey started – winning the Section V Class A championship game. And how fitting it was that arch-rival Fairport was standing in the way.

That night at RIT’s Gene Polisseni Center, Connor Haims was a man among boys, which stands to reason as he rises 6 feet, 3 inches off the ground and weighs a sturdy 200 pounds. He scored all three goals in a 3-1 victory over the Red Raiders.
