Cayuga County and village of Cato settle tree removal case with trucking company

Cayuga County will pay $13,000 and relinquish an old radio tower to a transportation company as a result of a settlement involving trees removed in the village of Cato.

The case involves an incident in July 2013, when the village of Cato requested, and was granted, permission from the Keith Titus Corporation to cut down some trees and shrubs to get to its water tower. The village and corporation had an easement agreement to get to the tower, which was not accessible by any public roads.
