Retired Army Lt. Col. Richard W. Salgueiro has been named associate director of the Canandaigua Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The VA announced Salgueiro will “provide management and operations oversight” for the Canandaigua VA and Rochester VA Outpatient Clinic.
Together, the two facilities sport an operating budget of $117 million and serve more than 20,000 veterans in the Finger Lakes region.
With more than 25 years of leadership experience in health care, Salgueiro has “expertise and knowledge in systems redesign, performance improvement and capital replacement strategic planning,” according to the VA.
Prior to joining the staff at the Canandaigua VA earlier this month, Salgueiro was the executive assistant director at the White River Junction VA Medical Center in Vermont. Most recently, Salgueiro worked at the Phoenix VA Health Care System in Arizona to support the organization’s improvement efforts.
