Waterloo Town Board takes first step toward clay mine moratorium

The Town Board has taken the first step toward adopting a moratorium on the construction of a clay mine in this Seneca County municipality. The board voted 4-0 in favor of that move at Monday’s meeting.

Town Supervisor Gary Westfall and board members Mike Pfeiffer, Jamie King and Herb Meyer voted to go ahead with the zoning code amendment. Board member Bob Rodger was absent.

The measure was approved unanimously. There was no discussion.
