STABBING: Victim wounded in neck, police say

Police say one man was stabbed in the neck during an assault Wednesday night outside an Ithaca gas station.

Ithaca police responded to 540 W. State St., the Mobil station, around 9:51 p.m., after the 911 center reported an assault there. The victim was cut in the side of his face and neck, police said.

“Significant injuries” were found on the victim’s ear and neck, police said, with heavy bleeding from the neck wound. Bangs Ambulance crews treated the victim, who was then flown to an area trauma hospital.

Suspects in the stabbing had fled the scene by the time law enforcement arrived, according to police. No description of suspects has been disclosed.
