Dundee students learn where reading can take them

Dundee Elementary School students celebrated reading all last week during Read Across America week with special activities each day, culminating Friday with a Reading Carnival.

Teacher Julie Dunkelberger, who organized the activities explains, "The point of this week is to show students how fun reading and writing can be, but also all the places you can go knowing how to us these skills."

This year's reading theme, "Reading Takes You Places," inspired the transportation-themed carnival, where students used tickets they earned for reading all year to play games, get treats, and try to win prizes during their visit to the carnival.
