Geneva man receives 10-year prison sentence for robbery

A Geneva man was sentenced to 10 years behind bars on Wednesday for what Ontario County District Attorney Michael Tantillo characterized as one of the most violent crimes handled in the county’s court system over the last couple years.

Samuel Goodman, 26, was sentenced to the prison time Wednesday in county court, having previously pleaded guilty to nine felony charges associated with the crime that involved him and another man working together to viciously rob an old friend.

Goodman’s accomplice, Colby Yamashita, 24, was previously sentenced for the crime and received the same prison term. After the sentence was handed down by State Supreme Court Justice Craig Doran on Wednesday afternoon, Tantillo detailed the brutal and prearranged attack carried out by the defendants.
