Lyons man attacks girlfriend, steals cell phone and cash

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts reports that a 27-year-old Lyons man was arrested on multiple charges after he attacked his girlfriend while taking various belongings from her.

Deputies say Samuel A. Luyando, 27, of Lyons was charged with third-degree robbery, two counts of petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was also charged with second-degree harassment following the incident where he allegedly stole $5 cash from his girlfriend, took her cellphone — preventing her from calling 911, and punching her several times before stealing the device.

He was subsequently arrested and released. Luyando will answer the charges at a later date in Lyons Town Court.
