Newark man charged with stalking, harassment after threatening caseworker

A Newark man is facing multiple charges after deputies in Wayne County say he was arrested following an investigation into threatening messages left with a caseworker with the Wayne County Department of Social Services Adult Protective Unit.

David J. Waterstraw, 37, of Newark was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment and fourth-degree stalking after he allegedly left threatening voicemails with a caseworker for Wayne County last year. He was ordered to cease the threatening contact — but once again left threatening voicemails in March.

He was arraigned in Lyons Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 secured bond.
