On Thursday, an East Bloomfield man was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary after an investigation into events that unfolded at a Bloomfield residence.
Deputies in Ontario County charged James Louis Poulos, 28, of East Bloomfield with second-degree burglary after he entered a residence illegally with the intent to steal property from inside.
Deputies also say that once he entered the residence he stole numerous pieces of jewelry as well as a handgun. Some of the jewelry was pawned in Rochester and was subsequently recovered.
Through the efforts of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and the cooperation of Poulos, the stolen handgun was also recovered safely without incident.
He was committed to the Ontario County Jail and will answer all of the charges at a later date in East Bloomfield Town Court.
Further charges are pending against Poulos as he has been linked to a series of other burglaries that took place in Ontario County.
