Scotland Rd. fire in Canandaigua ruled ‘accidental’, caused by discarded cigarette

In an update on Monday, officials said that the cause of the fire that happened on Scotsville Rd. was accidental. While the fire was initially called ‘suspicious’ they noted that a discarded cigarette likely caused the blaze, which quickly spread throughout the old home. A Junius man is facing seven felony charges related to a child sex abuse investigation, in which he is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with two victims between 3- and 6-years-old. On March 11th members of the Canandaigua Police Department arrested Zachary A.J. Foe, 21, of Canandaigua for third-degree criminal possession of marijuana.
