Two sent to the hospital after accident in Seneca Falls

The Seneca Falls Police Department reports that they were called to a one vehicle personal injury crash on Bauer Rd. after a driver swerved to miss a deer.

The driver, identified as Matthew J. Wade, 28, of Waterloo was northbound, went off the road — striking several trees and a utility pole before coming to rest in a wooded area.

Officers say a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Lawrence Wolcott Jr., 33, of Waterloo, as well as Wade, were transported to Geneva General Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Wade was subsequently charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after it was discovered that his driving privileges were suspended as he had a prior conviction in 2017.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

Seneca Falls Police were assisted at the scene by the Seneca Falls Fire Department, North Seneca Ambulance, Finger Lakes Ambulance and NYSE&G.
