On Monday around 3 pm crews in Cayuga County were busy working at a scene, which closed traffic on the busy Rt. 34 in Sennett.
According to Cayuga County 911, live wires came down after a pickup truck slammed into a utility pole between County House Rd. and North Street Rd.
Crews were working to clear the scene, but traffic had been diverted away from the scene. The Auburn Citizen reports that officials said the roadway would remain closed for several more hours.
NYSEG was called to the scene and the State DOT was on scene to assist with traffic control. The driver was temporarily trapped inside the vehicle.
However, the individual was eventually able to get out and didn’t appear to sustain any injuries.
