Dryden Central School District to vote on new capital project

The Dryden Central School District will bring a capital project to vote on March 28, 2017 that includes two propositions. Proposition #1 includes district-wide renovations and additions. Proposition #2 includes additional athletic site improvements. Voting hours are scheduled from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the Middle/High School Auditorium.

On March 20, 2017 the District held two community meetings fully outlining the capital project propositions, scope highlights, and financial information. Each meeting ended with a question and answer session about the project. According to district officials, the project is designed to maintain the district’s buildings through focusing on the needs of our facilities, and educational & athletic programs. This project consists of prioritized work identified during the Building Condition Survey that is required by the State Education Department every five years. “I’m proud of what our district and community currently has to offer, and this project is a stepping stone for Dryden’s future that will not only benefit our students and staff with expanded programs and maintained facilities but will continue to preserve Dryden’s status as a desirable school district.” explained, Sandra R. Sherwood, Superintendent.

Noting the current availability of critical funding for building projects, the vote comes at a time planned to minimize the tax impact.

Dryden Middle/High School is located at 118 Freeville Road, Dryden, NY 13053
