Deputies investigating ‘hit and run’ accident in Ontario

Deputies are investigating a hit and run accident that happened around 2:30 am.

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts says they’re seeking information from the public to help identify and find the driver involved.

Deputies say a vehicle traveling east on Ridge Rd. exited the south side of the roadway striking a 2010 Kia Sol at 2110 Ridge Rd. totaling the vehicle. The Sol then struck a porch, attached to a home nearby, according to deputies.

The suspect inside the vehicle then continued across the yard — then backed up striking a 2012 Dodge Avenger in the driveway of 2116 Ridge Rd.

Witnesses say the vehicle in question was a dark colored pickup truck. Parts left behind from the two wrecks appear to be from a 2002 to 2006 Cadillac Escalade.

Virts says the driver of the vehicle should have significant damage to the passenger side.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office at (315) 946-9711.
