Honeoye resident claims innocence of drug charges on witness stand

A Honeoye man facing decades behind bars for a series of drug charges took the stand during his trial on Friday, where he claimed that the alleged evidence gathered by police against him is fabricated.

The defense posed by 54-year-old Kenneth Barksdale in Ontario County Court, which included claims of audio tampering and made-up text messages, was vigorously contended by the prosecution during a heated hour of questioning in the South Courtroom.

“I know that everything is fabricated and I’ll go to my grave with that,” Barksdale concluded from the stand after being grilled by Assistant District Attorney Zachary Maurer.
