Wayne County learning center consortium gets funding

A consortium of four Wayne County school districts was awarded $2.4 million to continue its 21st Century Community Learning Center programs.

More than 1,600 students living in the Clyde-Savannah, Lyons, North Rose-Wolcott and Red Creek school districts, ranging from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, will continue to have access to an array of free community enrichment activities, including its most visible after-school program, according to Jay Roscup, grants administrator for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Wayne County Consortium.

The grant will pay for activities, programming and other initiatives designed to utilize time outside the classroom in the four districts.
