Three people were injured and a service dog was killed in a three-car crash that happened in Ontario County on Thursday.
According to a press release from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office the three-vehicle wreck involved a tractor-trailer, an SUV, and a pickup truck.
Deputies say Darryl E. Richardson, 50, of Rome was driving a 2016 tractor-trailer west on Taylor Rd. around 11:18 am when he did not stop at the stop sign for the intersection with Freshour Rd.

A 2013 Ford pickup truck operated by Haley J. Tipton, 40, of Clifton Springs was northbound on Freshour Rd. — and struck the rear area of the trailer.
A Jeep Cherokee, which was heading south on Freshour Rd. and being operated by Amber F. Fenster, 60, of Shortsville also hit the rear of the tractor-trailer, according to deputies.
The 60-year-old Fenster was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, and was listed in satisfactory condition. The service dog that died in the accident was listed as deceased at the scene, and belonged to Fenster.
Tipton and a passenger in her vehicle, identified as Diane D. Emerson, 68, of Waterloo were taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital for a checkover.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Richardson, was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
