Spring has officially arrived, and with that comes the adage, “Out with the old, in with the new” — which Victor has taken to heart as it looks to replace the boarded box rink at Dryer Road Park.
New boards and a turf surface will be added as part of the project, sources say. The previously existing boards were acquired from the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center about 15 years ago, and they were estimated to be at least 30 years old when Victor acquired them.
Currently, the park features a bicycle skills area/pump track, a box rink, a children’s playground, multi-use trails, a picnic shelter, rectangular athletic fields and year-round bathrooms.
Boys Lacrosse has used this for years, and Victor officials look forward to seeing a variety of school, youth and community organizations utilizing the new facility. Parks and Recreation not only supports activities for youth but continues to provide diverse recreational experiences for all community members.
