Honeoye resident facing welfare fraud charges

On April 7th a 36-year-old Honeoye resident was charged with welfare fraud following an investigation.

Deputies charged Chad Aaron Aycock, 36, of Honeoye with fifth-degree welfare fraud and second-degree offering a false instrument for filing.

According to deputies, he submitted an application for SNAP assistance and indicated that he had no income. He submitted another application for HEAP assistance with false information on it.

Deputies say Aycock indicated that he had no income when he actually had income. He was also receiving New York State unemployment benefits since December 2014.

The investigation determined that Aycock also failed to properly report that he had returned back to work in April 2015.

If Aycock had properly reported and listed his employment and income he would have received $449 less in SNAP benefits from Ontario County.

He was issued appearance tickets and will appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date.
