Search warrant leads to multiple drug charges in Ithaca

On Tuesday around 1:40 pm members of the Ithaca Police Department SWAT Team, Investigations Division, and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on a 38-year-old Ithaca resident.

Kimani A. House was traveling on State Rt. 13 adjacent to the Ithaca High School when a vehicle stop was conducted. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle with police.

On House’s person investigators located a substantial amount of heroin, cocaine, and U.S. currency.

After House was taken into custody members of the SWAT team and others served a search warrant on his residence at 209 S. Plain St.

They secured the residence and two occupants. Neither of those individuals are being charged with any crimes at this time, according to police.

House was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and tampering with physical evidence.

Additional charges are pending, according to the IPD.
