Political Roundup: Funding coming Victor-Farmington first responders’ way

The Victor-Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corp. stands to gain $22,691 in federal funding, according to U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.

The funding was allocated through the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, or AFG.

The Victor-Farmington Ambulance Corp. will use the money to enhance support for emergency medical services and help to improve operations and safety infrastructure, according to the Democratic New York senators’ joint announcement.

Over the past several years, the communities in Ontario County have grown tremendously, said Schumer in a prepared statement.
