Rare conditions and crushed dreams motivate Seneca Falls man to raise awareness

For Michael “Yogi” Borys, the ambulance trips to local hospital emergency rooms began in the third grade.

He would experience headaches, dizziness, loss of sensation, tingling, numbness, loss of consciousness and temporary blindness.

“Each trip to the hospital brought more of the same tests over and over again, X-rays, CT scans and others,” Borys said.

This pattern of ambulance rides, hospital stays and testing went on for many years.

Then his life changed forever in March of 2001.

Now an adult, he was attending the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy in Hopewell, a big step toward his goal of becoming a police officer.
