Man admits having thousands of child porn images

An Ithaca man faces up to 20 years in federal prison after after admitting Thursday to possessing thousands of images and hundreds of videos depicting child pornography.

Nicholas M. Feminella, 22, pleaded guilty to felony counts of transportation of child pornography and possession of child pornography. He will be sentenced Sept. 11 at the federal courthouse in Albany and remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals until then.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says about 13,000 images and 870 video files, all depicting children engaged in sex acts, were found by the state police Computer Crimes Unit on an external hard drive that Feminella owned.

A search warrant was executed at Feminella’s home in November 2015, after state police traced five child porn videos uploaded to a Dropbox account, according to court papers.
