Running coach dies during Sunday’s Seneca7 race

It’s the last thing officials or enthusiasts in Geneva expected to have happen during the Seneca7 race.

A Syracuse-area running coach died during the race, according to officials. Brendan Jackson, a triathlon trainer at Fleet Feet Sports Syracuse, suffered a serious medical emergency and died during the race.

He had 30 years of coaching experience, and coached a wide-range of experienced levels.

According to race officials, numerous individuals tried to save Jackson, but additional information about the incident was not available.
