Cuomo official hosting info session on free-tuition program

Members of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration, as well as SUNY leaders, will be holding information sessions, including one in Geneva, about the Excelsior Scholarship, a first-in-the-nation program to provide tuition-free college at New York’s public colleges and universities to families making up to $125,000 a year.

The events are open to the public, and students, parents and faculty are all encouraged to attend to learn how they can benefit from the scholarship.

Cuomo administration officials and SUNY leaders who will host upcoming events include Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher; Carl McCall, chairman of the SUNY Board of Trustees; and Guillermo Linares, Higher Education Services Corporation acting president. He will host the information session at Finger Lakes Community College’s Geneva campus, 63 Pultney St., on Wednesday, May 10, at 6 p.m.
