It’s been a busy month for law enforcement in Seneca County. Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce gave an update the Sheriff’s Department’s action over the previous month. April saw a variety of new cases, and offered a few more highlights than other months.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MONTH:
April 3rd: Deputies investigated a violent Domestic in the Town of Ovid where a woman was physically abused, choked and restrained. A 5 year old child was also involved. The suspect was located and arrested without incident.
April 19th: The Narco Unit arrested two subjects for trafficking heroin in Seneca County. The case began with an investigation into heroin laced with fentanyl being sold in Seneca County. Subsequently one of the subjects was charged for selling fentanyl in the Town of Waterloo.
April 23rd: Deputies discovered a subject in possession of cocaine while on a traffic stop in the Town of Ovid.
April 23rd: Deputies and Investigators responded to a small plane and skydiver incident in the Town of Ovid. The plane was damaged and a skydiver from the plane was injured.
April 26th: Investigators assisted Wayne County Sheriff’s Office with a Prostitution Sting that resulted in 6 men being charged.
April 27th: Several of our Corrections Officers participated in a “Wheelchair Basketball Game” at the Seneca Falls Rec Center to support Seneca County veterans and their families.
April 29th: The Sheriff’s Office conducted another Drug Take Back Day.
