Two fire departments in the Town of Victor will merge.
It will reduce cost, and according to the plan will provide better coverage for those living in Victor.
“We’re in the position that we should go ahead with this. We think it is a benefit for the community. It helps us with safety because it makes sure that we have adequate staffing,” said Victor Fire Chief, Sean McAdoo told WROC-TV.
However, moving forward with the plan isn’t quite as simple as making the decision unilaterally.
The Victor Town and Village Boards will decide on the feasibility of the entire plan. There will also be a public hearing held later this month on May 22nd, which will be an opportunity for those weighing in on both sides of the issue to jump into the discussion.
