Representatives of the YMCA of Greater Rochester presented plans for the expansion of Camp Cory on Keuka Lake to the Milo Town Board Monday night. YMCA Sr. Vice President Mike Stevens introduced architect Daniel Mossien and Jack Brown of The Pike Co., General Contractors. Together, they described the organization’s plans for expansion and improvements to the 96-year-old camp.
Three years ago, the YMCA developed a master plan for Camp Cory, designed “for the next century of service,” according to Stevens. As part of that plan, they acquired the Chidsey property that borders the south side of the camp on Rte. 54/East Lake Road, two miles south of Penn Yan. That adds 6.8 acres to the camp’s existing 26 acre campus. The Chidsey property includes a white farmhouse near the road, and a teardrop-shaped pond nearer the lake.
