A missing Cornell student was found dead in a gorge underneath the Stewart Avenue bridge Friday morning.
Law enforcement search teams recovered the body of Aalaap Narasipura, a 20-year-old senior electrical engineering student. Narasipura was reported missing since between 2 and 3 a.m. Wednesday.
The circumstances of Narasipura’s death are still under investigation, but no foul play is suspected, said Ryan Lombardi, vice president for Student & Campus Life at Cornell University.
“On behalf of the Cornell University community, I extend our deepest condolences to Aalaap’s family and friends as they grieve this tragedy,” Lombardi said. “They are in our thoughts as we all come to grips with the enormity of this loss.”
