Newark contractor wins ethics award

A Newark-based business is being honored for ethics by the Better Business Bureau.

Marshall Exteriors has been named a Torch Award recipient, the BBB announced.

According to the BBB, the Torch Awards for Ethics goes to companies with leaders “who demonstrate a high level of personal character and ensure that the organization’s practices meet the highest standards of ethics and, consequently, generate trust.”

It is the highest recognition given to area businesses by BBB.

The organization said an independent judging committee reviewed each application received by BBB and scored each business to identify the winners.

Marshall Exteriors opened in 2000 with one employee, owner Adam Olschewske. Over the past 17 years, he grew the business from the trunk of his car to a 12,500-square-foot facility at 171 W. Shore Blvd. managing close to 50 employees.
