Mental health investigation leads to arrest in Seneca Falls

The Seneca Falls Police Department reports that a town resident was arrested on May 11th after a mental health emergency was investigated.

Alisha T. Simmons, 35, of Seneca Falls was arrested on May 11th after an investigation into a call for service on May 7th.

Police say they were originally called to 13 Van Renssalaer St. to investigate a mental health emergency. While on scene, Simmons began to physically fightt with police.

Despite being told she was under arrest – officers say Simmons continued to punch and kick officers. She was charged with one count of harassment and one count of resisting arrest.

She appeared in court on May 18th to answer the charges.
