Public input wanted for Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant application

The City of Auburn is once again applying for a $10 million state grant to revitalize the downtown community and it wants public input on the project.

The grant, called the Downtown Revitalization Initiative, is $100 million to be distributed among 10 communities from 10 different regions of the state to revive downtown areas. Auburn is in the Central New York region.

The city is collecting public input online at auburnny.gov and is also holding public meetings. The first one took place Tuesday afternoon at City Hall. The second meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. May 30 at the Auburn Public Theater, 8 Exchange St.
