Elbridge village mayor steps down shortly after re-election

The Elbridge Village Board of Trustees will meet Monday night to appoint an interim mayor to replace Henry Doerr, who resigned as of May 30 after moving out of state.

Doerr had just been re-elected to a new four-year mayoral term in March, but since that time his family has moved out of state, the village clerk’s office said. Doerr submitted a resignation letter at the beginning of May.

Prior to his first term as mayor starting in 2007, Doerr had served on the village board from 2000 to 2007. He also served on the village Zoning Board of Appeals from 1989 to 2000.
