Four businesses stand in Canandaigua Chamber’s spotlight

Four area businesses were honored and scores more inspired at the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce annual Business Awards Luncheon on Friday.

Receiving awards this year were Wood Library for service, Canandaigua Federal Credit Union #16176 for retail, JD Chapman Agency, Inc. for industry, and Finger Lakes Visitors Connection for tourism.

Keynote speaker Penelope Pankow, proprietor of F. Oliver’s Oils and Vinegars, engaged and energized colleagues by sharing her store’s seven-year journey.

From its humble opening day with post-it notes for signs and no bottles in which to sell oils and vinegars, to expansions that include four locations, Pankow wove humor into lessons learned. And she made them easily transferrable for local business leaders.
