Volunteers recognized for helping Meals on Wheels

Meals On Wheels, a program of UR Medicine Home Care, is holding their annual Volunteer Milestone Luncheon at Brook-Lea Country Club at 891 Pixley Rd. in Rochester.

Each year, Meals On Wheels recognizes all their volunteers from clerical to Adopt-A-Route groups to the captains and our coordinators who help schedule volunteers to cover routes. Our President and CEO of UR Medicine Home Care, Jane Shukitis, will be speaking along with many other guest speakers. We will be also honoring two Adopt-A-Route groups for 25 years of service.

They will both be in attendance. They are Woods Oviatt Gilman LLC and Logical Operations. These are the 1st and 2nd Adopt-A-Route groups that joined Meals On Wheels. The coordinator for Woods Oviatt Gilman LLC has been the coordinator for all 25 years!

84 Meals On Wheels and clerical volunteers along with 13 Adopt-A-Route groups are expected to be recognized. The individual volunteers being recognized have given 965 years of service and the Adopt-A-Route groups have given 180 years of service for a total of 1,145 years.
