Best tasting water? Village of Waterloo wins and moves onto regional contest

When it comes to the taste of water – Seneca County residents often offer mixed reviews.

The Village of Waterloo was selected as the best tasting drinking water in Seneca County at a contest sponsored by the Seneca County Health Department at this past weekend’s Olde Home Days in Interlaken.

Seneca County residents participated in a blind taste test featuring water samples from the Village of Interlaken, Willard Drug Treatment Center, and the Town of Seneca Falls – in addition to the Village of Waterloo.

The winning water supply will now go on to compete at a regional contest. If they are successful at the regional level , they’ll compete for the statewide designation of the Best Tasting Water in New York State at a contest, which will be held at the New York State Fair this summer.

The Seneca County Health Department thanked the operators of the municipal water systems in Seneca County, as well as residents for their participation.
