Hope Center Food Pantry will open in former VFW

Those involved call it Community collaboration at its best.

Keuka Housing Council and Pro Action of Steuben and Yates Inc., together with grant awards from the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund Inc. and Nord Family Foundation are meking the creation of a new food pantry in Yates County a reality. The project is a joint effort of Keuka Housing Council, which purchased and is currently renovating the former VFW property on East Elm Street in Penn Yan, and Pro Action, which will assume operations of the current Keuka Food Pantry, which has been based at the Penn Yan Baptist Church.
