On Thursday, Seneca Meadows, Inc. announced that they filed a Notice of Voluntary Discontinuance regarding the Article 78 lawsuit against the Town of Seneca Falls.
The discontinuance was made possible by the repeal of the 2016 Waste Disposal Law, negating the need to challenge its legality.
The notice was filed with the Seneca County Slerk’s Office on Wednesday and was effective upon it’s filing.
In a prepared statement, Seneca Meadows District Manager Kyle Black said, “We are pleased for this opportunity to, once again, work in cooperation with the Town.” He added, “Together we can do great things for our community.”
The Article 78 filed by Waterloo Contractors — also known as Waterloo Container — had not been dropped.
Last week, Supervisor Greg Lazzaro said that fighting the suit would cost the Town money, which could otherwise be spent to make Seneca Falls better.
