Honey Dipper Festival is one sweet time

If you were in the mood for something sweet and local, the Honey Dipper Festival was the place to be Saturday.

Kettle Ridge Farm hosted this celebration of local cuisine, whether in the form of sweets, food or alcohol.

According to Chris Hurley, who runs the farm with his father, Joseph, the idea for the festival came about as a way to celebrate the honey-harvesting season. Bees begin pollinating in June, and since one of the farm’s primary exports is honey, the Hurleys thought it would be one sweet way to begin the harvesting season.
