The following Republican candidates have announced their intentions to seek public office this fall, according to information provided by the Yates County Republican Committee following a June 8 meeting. A Republican Primary will be held Sept. 12. The general election will be Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Republicans who have announced their intent to run are:
Yates County District Attorney: Valerie Gardner (incumbent) and Todd Casella
County Treasurer: Winona Flynn (incumbent)
County Coroner: Theron Smith
District 1 (Jerusalem, Middlesex, Italy – 4 seats): Ed Bronson, Elden Morrison, and Doug Paddock will seek re-election. Tim Cutler & Pat Killen will seek election. Taylor Fitch will not be seeking re-election.
District 2 (Benton, Potter, Torrey-3 seats): Tim Dennis, Jim Smith, and Terry Button (incumbents), and Rick Wilson (former legislator).
District 3 (Milo-4 seats): Dan Banach, Leslie Church, Earl Gleason and Mark Morris (incumbents), and Carlie Chilson.
District 4 (Barrington, Starkey, 3 seats): Bill Holgate, Jim Multer, and Bonnie Percy (incumbents)
Also, many town supervisor, town council, highway superintendents, and clerk positions are up for election.
