Country Estates residents want town to take over road

At the last Milo Town Board meeting Monday, June 19, about 17 residents of Country Estates, a residential development off Bath Road near the airport, attended to ask the board about the possibility of the town taking over the private road that serves their homes. Residents spoke for over an hour, stating that developer Bucky Lane had told them the town would eventually take over the road.

The town’s position is that the road was not built to town specifications, and they would not consider taking it over until it meets them. Until then, it is the responsibility of Lane, who currently owns and maintains the road, and pays $26 per year in property tax for it. No petition has been made for the takeover.
