Deputies: Geneva man falsified DSS app

A Geneva man was charged on Thursday after offering a false instrument for filing, according to deputies.

Deputies say that Demond Williams, 45, of Geneva submitted an application for services and benefits to the Ontario County Department of Social Services, where the application contained false information concerning resources.

He indicated that there were no resources when he actually had a retirement account, according to deputies. Williams was charged with second-degree offering a false instrument for filing based on the investigation, and issued appearance tickets.

The charge will be answered at a later date in Geneva City Court.
