Police: Two Cayuga Centers teens facing felony charges in attempted robbery

Two runaway teens from Cayuga Centers are facing felony charges after allegedly attempting to rob a man in downtown Auburn, police said.

The Auburn Police Department said that at about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, a 38-year-old man was outside the Cayuga County Office Building, 160 Genesee St., when two males began yelling at him from the across the street. After attempting to ignore them, the man alleged that the teenagers crossed the street and tried to rob him. One attacker had a sharp object, according to a release.

The man was able to cross the street and enter Parker’s Grille & Tap House, 129 Genesee St.
