Shooting in Ithaca; IPD seeking public’s assistance

The Ithaca Police Department is investigation a shooting, which took place on Saturday around 12:34 pm.

IPD officers responded to the area of Willow Ave. and Lake Ave regarding the report of a dispute, during which time a handgun was discharged.

According to police, multiple witnesses were present when they arrived. One handgun casing was recovered at the scene, and even as IPD established a perimeter — searching and canvasing the area — no victim or suspect was located.

The shooter was described as an African American male, early-20s, approximately 5’10”, 180 pounds and last seen wearing a dark colored shirt.
