FLX FORECAST: Holiday week will be drier, sunny for most

Temporary relief from the seemingly endless cycle of rain and thunderstorms is here.

While the first two days of the lengthy holiday weekend were wet and unsettled, it appears as though Monday and Tuesday will be much better.

According to forecasters, high pressure is building into the region, which will leave just a few stray clouds throughout the remainder of the weekend.

FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil says Monday afternoon will be a mix of sun and clouds with comfortable temperatures in the mid 70s.

Tuesday will be a repeat of Monday, according to Montreuil, only without the morning clouds. Sunny skies early will gradually give way to some scattered fair weather clouds. No precipitation is expected in or anywhere near the Finger Lakes with high pressure taking firm control. Temperatures will again reach the mid 70s.

Evenings look just as good for those heading out to fireworks. Temperatures will be comfortable in the 60s both nights.

Montreuil says that wet weather won’t return until the end of the shortened work week — or during the weekend, as another system makes its way into the area. Temperatures will likely climb into the 80s with more humidity returning with the wet weather.
