Incident on roadway leads to felony DWI charge in Interlaken

Deputies say a a 51-year-old was arrested after an incident was reported where two drivers were yelling at each other on State Route 96.

Arthur P. Porter, 51, was arrested in Interlaken after he refused to submit to a breath test, which resulted in a felony DWI charge, as well as a first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation charge — both felonies.

The arrest stemmed from a call where a male was following a female in a vehicle and the two were allegedly yelling at each other. Deputies say upon contact with the driver he was found to be intoxicated and arrested.

He was arraigned in Covert Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 secured bond.
