Children learn, have fun at Cayuga County Fair

Katie Brennan, her daughter Madeline Grilli, 2, and Madeline’s grandmother Karen Brennan were taking in the sights at the Cayuga County Fair in Owasco Saturday — including that of the horses, or “Neighs,” as Madeline calls them.

“Mom! Mom! Big neighs! Big neighs!” Madeline exclaimed.

Katie said that her daughter loves being around animals, so they decided to go the fair, held at the grounds of the Ward W. O’Hara Agricultural & Country Living Museum and Dr. Joseph F. Karpinski Sr. Educational Center.

Katie — who used to compete in horse riding-related showings at the fair when she was younger — said children who compete get to show what they’ve been working on all year.
