Wayne County Judge Daniel Barrett sentenced a Newark man to a long prison term Thursday for numerous burglaries in several Wayne County communities.
Acting District Attorney Chris Bokelman said George Brown, 31, was sentenced to 6 to 12 in prison for five counts of third-degree burglary. The charge is a class D felony.
Brown was arrested in October by sheriff’s office investigators following a month-long probe into burglaries in Arcadia, Marion and Palmyra, as well as in Ontario County. Sheriff’s office investigators were assisted by investigators from the state police, Newark Police Department and Ontario County Sheriff’s Department.
Brown has pleaded guilty to charges in Ontario County as well. His sentence there will run concurrently to the Wayne County sentence.
