Following an “extensive” search, the city of Auburn has filled the assistant corporation counsel position.
Nate Garland will start in the position July 17. He is replacing Stacy DeForrest, who moved up to head corporation counsel after John Rossi stepped down to a part-time assistant corporation counsel position July 1.
Garland has more than 10 years of experience practicing law. He received his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2006 and ran his own solo law practice in Oneonta until 2012 when he took a job as a Cayuga County assistant district attorney.
